Coaching Points for Movement concepts

๐ŸˆStay on your path!  The ball or a puller are the only things that should alter your path.

๐Ÿˆ Make the play or make the ball cut back.

๐Ÿˆ You cannot be blocked by the man you are aligned on.

๐ŸˆNever cross the face of a man who doesn't want to block you.  If the blocker is looking away, don't cross his face so that he see you and can block you.

One gap movements (5 technique to a 3 technique)

๐Ÿˆ You must beat the man you are aligned on.

๐Ÿˆ Key the offensive lineman is the V of the neck we are moving towards.

๐Ÿˆ Fight a face, chase a tail.  THIS IS HUGE!!

๐ŸˆMake contact on 2nd step on their turf.

Helpful Hints

Try these things one at a time when your players are struggling with their assignments.  As a coach, you have to be able to work with different players and their differing abilities.

๐ŸˆBack 6 inches off the ball

๐ŸˆTighten your aligment.  Don't sacrifice execution for disguise.

๐ŸˆTake some weight off your hand for a more balanced stance.  Maybe the player has too much weight forward.

๐ŸˆNarrow your feet in your stance.
