Teaching your linemen to play with their body in alignment when run blocking improves strike force strength and reduces the chance of injury.

shows us some of the drills that he worked with as a grad assistant at Duke.  You will be able to see video of Duke practices.

The entire clinic is located on Glazier Drive:  O-Line Run Blocking Drills: 2018 Duke University.

The drills from the video:

6 Point and 4 Point Explosion Drills
Roll and Run
Ducks

Some of the Key Coaching Points:

Work from a line so that the players will know where to start.

Your players hands, knees, and ankles should be in alignment.

Make sure that the players dig their toe cleats into the grass so that they have a base to work from and that it has more carryover value to the game.

They teach to punch the hands up and keep the thumbs up when striking.  That keeps the elbow in.  When the elbows come out, the blocker loses strength and exposes the shoulder to injury.

Coach your bag holders in your drills to have a great drill.  They teach one hand high, one hand low, and pull the bag in as much as possible.
