How to Attack Power Run Teams out of a Hybrid 3-4/4-2-5 Defense - Michael Judy

If you face teams that run 2 Back, Power Runs, or Wing-T, Coach Michael Judy (Head Coach Smyrna High School, DE) has a Glazier Drive presentation that you don't want to miss: Defending the Wing-T & Power Offenses out of the 3-4/4-2 Defense

The video below is the first 10 minutes of that presentation.

We have posted some takeaways from his clinic below the video.

Coach Judy's belief is the most important aspect of stopping a power run team is to have a defined Force Player prior to every snap.

You must then utilize that player by spilling the ball to that free hitter.

Power run teams try to overload one side and Coach Judy wants to "change the math."  He wants to allow in a way that the offense will use their pre-snap blocking rules that many times they have been practicing for years, and make them wrong post-snap.

His objective is to attach their run schemes and blocking assignments with pressure and games.
