- Alignment--Simple rules that apply to every formation. Players go through rules 1-does it apply?, 2--does it apply?, 3--does it apply?
- Assignments--Simple rules that apply to every formation.
- Calls--Three calls cover the whole defense.
- Fist Call--Front
- Second Call-Stunt and Blitz
- Third Call--Coverage (0,1,2,3,4)
- Checks--Made against certain formations/plays. Keep them simple and clear.
- Flexibility --Adjust to any formation without changing personnel
