Force the QB into Bad Decisions with Fire Ghost Pressure - Chris Jewell

Fire Ghost Pressure is a way to force the quarterback into bad decisions and protect you against RPOs and play action shots.

College of Idaho Defensive Coordinator Chris Jewell explains a portion of how they run it in our video.

His entire presentation, 4-2-5 Quarters Ghost Pressure / Zone Pressure is housed on Glazier Drive.

The #1 objective for their base defense is to stop the run.  They use some of their ghost pressure packages when their opponent is in throwing situations.

They like ghost pressures because:

  1. It helps them defend RPOs and play action pass shots.
  2. They can play half field safeties and still defend agains the run.
  3. They can force bad decisions by the quarterback.
  4. Dissuades boots, slip screens, and draws.
