Offensive Line Barrel Drill: Fit & Finish

The Offensive Line Barrel Drill is designed to help train your O-Line’s fit & finish techniques. Although simple, this drill can be quite successful in training your player’s fit and success on the line.

The drill is started from a 3 point stance upon command from the coach. Player will fire out and fit up on the barrel, trying not to knock the barrel over.

If the barrel tips over it tells you that the fit is too high. Players should be able to look over the top of the barrel.

Upon fit up on the barrel, the barrel should slide, not tip. One key coaching point is a wide base with center of gravity never going out past the toes.
