Universal Keys to Win as a Blocker

1. Eyes are a muscle - Use them to send the right messages to your body & buddies.
   
   
2. Loaded stances - Mental weight creates efficient movements.
   
   
3. Head, hip, and hands leverage - Fight for body and ball leverage on every snap.  Vertical, horizontal, and ball leverage. Ball leverage is where the blocker needs to fit his body to stay in between the defender and the ball carrier on every snap.
   
   
4. Puncture, Strain, Finish - Set the physcial tone every day in every way.  The John Carroll expectation is that they are the most physical team in the nation.

Run Game Essentials

1. Fit low - Head, hips, and hands puncture aiming point.  Play leower than the defense.
   
   
2. Strike tight-Tight elbows and thumbs.
   
   
3. Stay on the run - Knee drive through target and finish with violence.

The main objetive is to eliminate the defendender's ability to separate.
