Power Run Action Passing Game - Greg Jones

This video is taken from Greg Jones' "Simple Chaos" Gap Scheme Spread System.  The Power Run action passing games is one of 18 lessons in the system. Coach Jones goes in depth on his Gap Scheme Spread System while teaching how an uptempo and "chaotic" can attack the defense.

He is an assistant coach at Central Missouri.

Some notes from the lesson are below the video

Takeaways from the video

You can use power runs to get the opponent to the point where they are selling out to stop your run plays and open up your passing game.

He likes the term "Run action passes" instead of play action passes because you want to sell the run.

These are not RPOs.  They are plays designed to make the defense think you are running a power play to gain an advantage in the passing game.

The lineman the rules are almost the same as power.

Based on the formation, the routes change.

Few schemes, lots of window dressing.

The "window dressing" comes from the receivers running their routes and not from the offensive linemen.
